We can’t believe the RHS is nearly upon us once more! As you can guess it’s a fairly big deal here in Cheshire, especially for us Knutsfordians. We’re huge lovers of horticulture and the Moss Wood gardens reflect our slightly oversized obsession with all things of the garden variety.
This year’s show looks to be as awe-inspiring as ever with lots to entice visitors over and above the huge number of exhibitors and competition gardens on display. Here’s the low down on what to expect this year, it sounds better than ever…
This year the RHS is devoting their energies to those essential pollinators that make the garden grow. Discover the life cycle of insects, find out how to attract them to your garden and learn to garden in harmony with some of the world’s wriggliest creatures.
Walk in a field of over 5000 varieties of these beautiful flowers and get fully immersed!
Even the grandest of display gardens can inspire small creative touches to a keen gardener looking for ideas. This year the youngsters are giving us a run for our money with the Young Designer of the Year competition. Watch the gardeners of tomorrow go head to head and you may see a future Gold winner.
It wouldn’t be an RHS piece without mentioning the incredible involvement of Knutsford itself in holding its own with their dazzling window displays and fringe competition. Late in the week leading up to the show you can see these floral displays at their best, and it’s our personal highlight of the show with retailers outdoing each other for the top prize. They’re fabulous, funky and often funny. Don’t miss!
…and of course you’ll be needing somewhere to stay for your trip – Moss Wood is the absolutely perfect base for your horticultural weekend, set in breathtaking gardens and overlooking the idyllic Cheshire countryside, we’re a short hop away from Tatton Park and a haven of peace and tranquility.
